BOY SCOUT NOTES
An outdoor meeting was held Wednesday by the members of troop 12. The Scouts met with Scoutmaster Jones at troop headquarters and from there went back into the canyons. The purpose of the hike was to pass first class tests. After supper Scout games were played around the campfire and tests in star observation passed.

About 20 merit badge applications have been forwarded to national headquarters in the past week. An announcement is soon to be made of San Diego’s first Eagle Scout.

The big Christmas feed for member of the “I Got One” club will be held the first Saturday evening after Christmas, at the week-end camp. Membership cards should be handed in at once.

Troop 21 has accepted the football challenge issued by troop 19. The big game will be played this afternoon at the Golden Hill playground.

The date of Mr. West’s official visit to the Pacific coast has again been postponed, be he expects to be here Jan. 18.

Asst. Scoutmaster Allan Kelly, 12, is spending his vacation at his ranch, near Oceanside.

Scoutmaster Chase, 21, and family are spending the holidays in Los Angeles.

A large hike for Scouts of all troops was held today. The objective was the Chollas valley radio station. Special permission was given the scouts to “see it all.”

Next Saturday a hike probably will be taken on North Island and at the naval air station.

Troops that have not as yet adopted a troop constitution are requested to examine the model on page 116 of the Scoutmaster’s handbook.

Troop 40 is the latest to register in the San Diego council, with Scoutmaster Martin and A. S. M. Goodbody in charge.

Troop 2, Coronado, is expecting to hear from troop 36 about the challenge for an indoor game.
* * *
The “Bugle” next week will be printed by troop 19. It is to be larger than usual and will be printed in two colors. Watch for it.
