FIRST EAGLE SCOUTS
Among the early Eagle Scouts of California were three Pomona boys. They were Harvey Zeigler, troop 6, First Methodist church, at present assistant scout master in the Old Baldy council; John Thompson, troop 6, present scoutmaster of Troop 1, Claremont, and John Evans, Troop 7, a present student at the University of California. Evans still takes an active interest in scout work when in Pomona during the summer vacations.
The Bulletin in Pomona, California, owes it’s origin as The Pomona Times in 1882, before becoming The Progress Bulletin. Today, the local Pomona paper is known as The Daily Bulletin.
