Dr. Edward Boseker was an orthopedic surgeon and spine specialist in Orange County. His family also owned what became known as the Great Oak Ranch near Temecula, which included one of the largest oak trees in the area.
Many Scouting ceremonies were conducted near or under this tree, which could host upwards of 200 people. The site of this tree is now owned by the Pechanga Indian Reservation. As part of his support for Scouting, he gave a significant donation to the California Inland Empire Council, who appended the name Boseker Scout Reservation to Camp Emerson and Camp Brown in Idyllwild.
