John Patrick Rogers, known by many as Pat, or Rat Pogers, or Peaches, was a lifelong Scouter. He lived the Scout Oath and Scout Law. A long time Staff Member of Camp Willy at Camp Helendade, and at Camp Emerson as the Shooting Sports Director for Summer Camp. He was Chief Campmaster for many years at Camp Helendade, helping with many weekend programs from Webelos Woods to Dad and Lads, and Mom and Me’s.
He served at one time or another in the following positions: Assistant Scoutmaster, Crew Associate Advisor, Skipper, Sea Scout Commodore, Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner, District Committee Member, Council Shooting Sports Committee Member, Council Shooting Sports Committee Chair, Camp Commissioner, Summer Camp Staff in his youth and as an adult, as well as Staffing National Camp School for Shooting Sports.
He was best known for his storytelling, especially when holding his Whopper Stick.
