COUNCIL DEDICATED CAMP WHITSETT IN SERVICE YESTERDAY
With W.P. Whitsett, founder of Van Nuys and enthusiastic Scouter, as honored guest, the San Fernando Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America, yesterday dedicated its newly acquired summer camp in the High Sierras, named Camp Whitsett in recognition of a man who has done much toward the cause of Scouting in the Valley.
The Van Nuys News began in 1911 as the Van Nuys Call, and was renamed the Valley News and Green Sheet in 1953. It would become the Los Angeles Daily News in 1981.
