The Pasadena-San Gabriel Valley Council succeeded the earlier Pasadena District Council. In 1951, it shortened its name to the San Gabriel Valley Council. Long Beach Council was organized as early as 1919, and continues today. Its primary camp is Camp Tahquitz in the Barton Flats area of San Bernardino County.
