Knights of Dunamis

The Knights of Dunamis was a service organization of Eagle Scouts that began in San Francisco. Like the early days of the Order of the Arrow, Dunamis was not formally organized under the Boy Scouts of America. Unlike the OA, the Knights of Dunamis kept this distinction throughout its history.

The Boy Scouts of America, seeking more integration and an orgranization of Eagle Scouts, created the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) in 1972, ending the Dunamis organization.

The Knights of Dunamis was a key intra-Council organization in Southern California years before the Order of the Arrow was a major presence.

Some key Dunamis conferences were held in Southern California:

Fourth Annual Conference

December 12, 1932

Riverside, California

Sixth Annual Conference

December 27 – 29, 1934

Pomona College, Pomona, California
