Lew’s Lost Hiking Stick

In the 1980s, a presumed Scout named Lew lost his hiking stick.

A gentleman was hiking in California’s Borrego Palm Canyon in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, when he happened upon it, and seeing the care that was put into it, he took it home.

It appears that Lew attended Cedar Badge, a junior youth training course, followed by Buckskin in 1981 1, a more advanced youth leader training. Both of these training courses were founded by the Old Baldy Council.

It also appears Lew attended Holcomb Valley Scout Ranch, which was the Council’s Summer Camp from 1973 – 2006. The stick has the year “1981” included. See the images in the gallery below.

Now, the hiking stick is in Arizona. Perhaps a gentleman named Lew will think about his days hiking as a Scout in the 1980s, and in reminiscing about it, do a Google Search about his lost hiking stick.

Lew, are you out there? We would love to re-unite you with your hiking stick.
