Jubilee Scout Ranch (1956 – 2003)

Jubilee Scout Ranch was purchased in 1956.

It included 620 acres Southwest of Pinon Hills off Mountain Road, South of Lancaster, Palmdale, and Edwards Air Force Base, just off Highway 138 at the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County Line at an elevation of 5,200 feet.

It was approximately 65 miles North of downtown Los Angeles on the desert side of Angeles National Forest. This high Mojave Desert camp provided Scouts and leaders with an opportunity to behold the wonders of the desert environment. The Joshua Trees, cacti, tumbleweeds, creosote bush, and desert wildlife, added to the unique experience in an outstanding classroom for leaders and youth to test their skills. Jubilee was an oasis in one of the fastest growing areas in California. It was also the site of the 1965 Area 12-E Conference.

It operated as a year-round camp. It included a dining hall and kitchen, administration building, ranger’s house, stockage, archery and rifle ranges, and eleven improved campsites. The water system included more than three miles of pipe.

It was sold in 2003.
