The San Fernando Valley Council existed until 1972. That year, it merged with Crescent Bay Council, to form the Great Western Council.
Its Order of the Arrow Lodge was Walika Lodge # 228.
San Fernando Valley Council ran its 1937 two-week Summer Camp at Camp Ro-Ki-Li, with sessions running from July 16 – August 2 and August 2 – 9.
In 1945 and 1946, the Council held a Summer Camp program at one of the United States Forest Service campgrounds at Barton Flats in the San Bernardino Mountains. They used Public Campground # 1, which means it could have been at the Council Camp campground. The next year, in 1947, Camp Whitsett in the Sierra Nevada opened.
