Comments
The program indicates that this is the first AREA U fellowship meeting. Henry Use was the Host Lodge Chief of the conference meeting. The event was held Monday through Thursday. The first two days took place in Santa Barbara. On Wednesday, the Meeting moved to Camp Drake in the Santa Ynez Mountains.
Attendance was 68 people as follows:

Chartered Lodges not represented at the Meeting included: Navajo Lodge # 98 (Old Baldy Council # 43), Tahquitz Lodge # 127 (Riverside Council Council # 45), Victorio Council # 177 (Cochise Council # 8), Walika Lodge # 228 (San Fernando Council # 56), Mow-A-Toc Lodge # 262 (Redwood Area Council # 44), Swegedaigea Lodge # 263 (Silverado Lodge # 38), Topa Topa Lodge # 291 (Ventura County Council # 57), Gorgonio Lodge # 298 (Orange Empire Area Council # 39), Unnamed Lodge that became Yowlumne Lodge # 303 (Kern County Council # 30), and Sinawava Lodge # 312 (Boulder Dam Area Council # 328).
The program also notes that Mow-A-Toc, Topa Topa, Gorgonio, Yowlumne, Cayucos, and Sinawava Lodges were not chartered at the time of the Area Meeting.
The officers were honorary. The July 1945 National Bulletin doesn’t list lodge 312 in AREA U. The Region Adviser was know as the Area Leader at this time. A. R. (Andy) Groenink was appointed to the National Committee.
