On January 20, 2025, Scout Executive Lee Harrison, Council President Rick Breithaupt, Jr., Fire Captain Rich Dibble, Ranger Mike, and John Ashkar, met at Camp Josepho to assess the extent of the fire damage in the Palisades Fire.
The following are images from Rick Breithaupt document the intensity and extent of the damage.

Look from above down into the camp at Rustic Canyon. Hillsides are completely denuded of chaparral vegetation. Below, you can see where the Lodge and cabins used to be.

View of the Lodge from North (the Ranger’s House) – near coke machine. Fireplace in main room, conference room to right of fireplace.

Remains of the Conference Room. Only unrecognizable debris as the fire at very high temperatures. This image is from the location where the exit doors were.

View of the Lodge from the South Entry – bathroom at left. Kitchen sinks just beyond bathroom.

Remains of the Lodge from the Ranger’s House.

Taken from the North-East corner of the Lodge.

Old water tanks exposed after the fire burned all vegetation.

John Ashkar, Rick Breithaupt, Jr., Fire Captain Rich Dibble, Ranger Mike, and Lee Harrison. Thank you to Cal Fire and all first responders for helping our Scouters visit this beloved camp so they can begin the process of assessing the damage and creating a better future after this tragedy.
