2000 Section W4A Conclave

The weather was fantastic. Attendance was 360. The Friday night show was based on the Conclave theme, “Surfing Into The Future,” but was rather short. The Saturday night show was also to be based on the theme, but was really a Pow Wow for the most part. The training received many good comments.

There was both a 3” and a 4” patch of the same design.  The patch was a 4” round with a red border.  There were two identical patches 3” in diameter.  The red border was used for the hats and the gold border for staff. 

The Outstanding Lodge Award was won by Topa Topa Lodge # 291. The Pre-Ordeal Trophy was won by Malibu Lodge # 566. The Brotherhood and Vigil Trophies were won by Ta Tanka Lodge # 488. The Most Spirited Lodge was Ta Tanka Lodge # 488. The Flight of the Thunderbird was won by Topa Topa Lodge # 291.

Special guests included Esten Grubb, National Committee, Steve Bradley, Area 4 Adviser, Tom Tabb, Western Region Committee, Hayato Nakawatase, 1999 Western Region Chief, Brad Lowry, Section W1B Chief, Mark Stickel, Section W4B Chief, and Brian Barth, Section W5B Chief.
